Who we are
Redbud Pods helps Indiana parents form small learning groups (pods) and post roles for teachers. Families hire the teacher and run the group. Redbud does not operate classrooms, does not enroll students, and does not issue diplomas.
Homeschool duties stay with the parent
In Indiana, compulsory attendance and “instruction equivalent to that given in public schools” are parent duties under Indiana Code chapter 20-33-2 (see especially IC 20-33-2-27 and IC 20-33-2-28). Homeschools are treated as nonpublic, nonaccredited schools. IDOE states that reporting homeschool enrollment is not required. Redbud does not register your homeschool, keep your 180-day attendance book, or define “equivalent instruction.” Those remain yours. This page does not make anyone compliant.
Curriculum tags are labels, not alignment
Tags such as classical, Montessori, or standards-aligned describe a pod’s philosophy. They are not a claim that a pod “meets” Indiana Academic Standards, TEKS, or any other official list.
We do not vet teachers
Profiles, job posts, and applications are user-submitted. Redbud does not promise background checks, licensing, or that a teacher is qualified.
No ESA / school-choice claims
This site does not say Redbud, a pod, or a teacher is an approved ESA or Choice Scholarship provider.
Children’s information
v0 is built to collect only a child’s name, age band, and zip, plus adult account data. Do not upload extra student records, grades, or medical information.
Geography
This early version is for Indiana. Other states have different notice and subject rules; do not treat this page as multi-state guidance.
